About Us

Alongside our gorgeous range of knitting wool and yarns our shop also provides a great range of haberdashery items and a huge selection of patterns. We are based just outside Braintree in Essex at Cherry Lane Nursery, if you are in the area we would love to see you!

Our shop is open from 11:00am to 5:00pm Wednesday to Saturday and there is always someone in the shop to help with any queries about patterns or wool that you may have.  We are also happy to help you fix any problems with your current project.

If there is something that you are looking for and can’t find on our site, please contact us and we will do our utmost to source it for you.

The Wool Shop Essex knitting club is held in the Café at Cherry Lane Nursery every Wednesday between 10am and 12 noon.  All levels are welcome and if you would like to learn to knit then please come along, there’s always someone there to help.

If you run a knitting club in the North Essex area and would like us to visit you with our mobile shop, please email or call us to arrange a suitable date.

If you would like a hand  knitted garment but don’t or can’t knit we will be happy to knit it for you, just let us know the pattern, your choice of wool and your sizes and we will get back to you with a price.
